Aharon = Moshe
Rashi (6:26) says that the Torah in this instance places Aharon before Moshe in order to teach us that they are equal. Everyone asks what does Rashi mean, of course Moshe was greater that Aharon, he gave us the Torah, there is noone equal in level of prophecy to Moshe? There are many interpretations given for this Rashi. I have always thought the simple peshat is as follows. The Rambam tells us one of the great principles of faith is that there can't be a greater prophet than Moshe. However, in his introduction to Pirkey Avos, the Shemoneh Perakim, and in the Laws of Teshuva (5:2) he says that everyone can be as great as Moshe? Rav Elchonen Wasserman (Kovetz Maamarim pg. 56) explains that we can't reach the level of Moshe, but we can be like Moshe in terms of maximizing our potential. Just as Moshe realized his full potential, so too we can maximize our capabilities. That may be the intent of Chazal over here, yes Aharon didn't reach the same heights as Moshe, but he fulfilled his potential such as much as Moshe did.
