The Yerushalmi in Sotah (34a) according to the understanding of the Ridvaz asks that leaving the shemittah year should require havdalah to enter the non shemmitah year. The Gemorah answers that since the year ends by entering into Rosh Hashana and one says havdalah המבדיל בין קדש לחול after Rsoh Hashana it covers the havdalah of shemittah. Rav Yaakov Yafin (in Zechor L'Avrohom in memory of his father, ) proves from this Yerushalmi that havdalah is a general din to differentiate between kedusha and chol, not a specific din in the Laws of Shabbos (see Magid Mishne Ch. 29 of Shabbos.)
we have that idea on shavous that Sunday night's qiddush is the 50th count
ReplyDeleteaccording to shitas harambam that havdalah is an extension of the chiyuv of zachor es yom ha'shabbos where we learn kiddush from, then how does it extend to shemita? and if shemita is just a k'ein d'oraysa of what we have on shabbos, why is the gemara not bothered by the lack of kiddush for shemitta year?
ReplyDeleteThat is the point here that the Yerushalmi would seem to be understanding that it is not an extension of kiddush.
