Rav Chayim Walkin z"l says we see that Moshe realized the chain of events put him where he was standing that day. He attributed the help he gave to the daughters of Yisro and being orchestrated by G-d to put him in the right place at the right time. Wherever one goes, it is because they belong there. The idea he cites from Rav Bloch was referenced in the past by my father in a hesped by Rav Michoel Sorotzkin for Rav Moshe Shapiro.
